Sustainable Transport: Creating the Weaver Way
Stretching from Frodsham in the north to it's most southerly point at Audlem, the fully signed route leads you along the River Weaver and Navigation, as well as the Trent and Mersey and Shropshire Union Canals.
The Weaver Way is rich in heritage, much of it linked to the county's industrial heritage. Shea was responsible for initiating the project, writing the development strategy, fundraising and delivering over £4 Million of investment. Funding was sourced from multiple sources including Heritage Lottery and Sustans Big Lottery Connect 2 project.
Both the Creating the Weaver Way and Middlewich Masterplan projects, won British Urban Regeneration Awards for Community Consultation and Masterplanning.
Her skills as a Project Manager, enabled her to restore Grade 1 listed Locks; mitigate and enhance habitats for Great Crested Newts and promote community engagement in the Cheshire waterways.
