Coastal:  Crosby Coastal Park

Crosby Coastal Park is part of the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Merseyside coastline, north of Liverpool, within the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton. The coastal park is home to to Anthony Gormley's "Another Place" sculptures on Crosby Beach;Crosby Watersports Centre; Marine Gardens; Crosby Swimming Pool and Sustrans Coastal Route 810 on the promenade with associated tourism infrastructure.

Using her Masterplanning and fund raising skills Shea was responsible for the:

  • Implementation of "Iron Men" sculptures within a testing marine environment;

  • Preparation of Management Plans for the sensitive and moving Dune and Beach environment to enhance protected species including NatterJack Toads;

  • Construction of tourism infrastructure of Toilets, Cafe and Car Parking;

  • Masterplanning of Watersports Centre and bid writing to secure funding and Habitat Regulation Assessment (HRA) consents;

  • Delivery of external works PPI contract for Crosby Pool;

  • Project management and bid writing to Lottery funds to construct two phases of Sustrans  Cycle Route 810 on the promenade, and

  • Partnership working to repair Sea Wall with all necessary HRA and planning consents.
